about

This one of the first songs I wrote. It's also one of the simplest, and strangely for me, the one people tend to like the most. The name I use for my website and other things derives from the lyric at the end of the second chorus

lyrics

Do you notice anything around you that is wrong.
Do you know what’s going on.
People starving, daily striving, struggling to survive, people smiling,
Happy just to be alive.
Happiness is so much easier to find,
Than the rich make out as they’re leaving you behind.
Giving is getting, remember that when you letting selfish needs take over
Everything you do.

Do you notice anything around you that could change.
Are you looking for some evil man to blame.
Does the thought of standing up when you are so weighed down by fear,
In a world of lies seem like the wrong idea.
Understanding’s so much easier to achieve
With an open mind and a heart that wants to believe.
We’re all together on this world that is our home,
As it’s sailing through the universe alone.

Do you not see anything that is worth fighting for.
Is it fair that those with everything get more.
We’re all together on this world that is our home, so why can’t we get along.
Freedom lies in everybody’s heart, It’s just a case of letting it become a part of
The way you chose to be.
When equality’s a reality, we’ll all be free to follow our destinies.

about

Neil Nayar London, UK

I'm just one of those people who always finds myself in crazy situations in love and in life. I'm not sure if it's good for my sanity, but it does make for fun and interesting songs.

I came to Malawi in 2012 with a one-way ticket, a guitar and no money, carrying on from the hobo life I'd lived that year busking on the streets of Holland and Spain.

It's all in the stories
